$22, 1898 Life Insurance Policy - New York Life

1898 genuine New York Life Insurance poster-sized policy with appealing, reddish-brown border. 4 pages, but only page 1 contains both the classic beautiful graphic design. Signed by John A. McCall, president of New York Life since February 1892. McCall was a vigilante in exposing corporate fraud during the preceding decade.

The graphic at top-center features an American bald eagle with wings upraised tending to three baby eagles in a nest on a a cliff. In the background a sailboat and a fishing vessel sail on a waterway next to a mountain range. All of this appears on top of the beautiful classic font stating the company name "New York Life Insurance Company", while five different and genuine 1890's U.S. revenue stamps adorn the top-left side of the document.

A fancy-font, reddish-brown underprint just under center of document contains five large letters "NYLFE".

Suitable for framing. Excellent condition with no flaws or imperfections, except for fold creases which should diminish once the document gets placed under a glassed frame. Measures 12 3/8 X 18 3/8 inches.
