$19, 1906 Winnipeg Grain & Produce Exchange

This is a numbered formal membership certificate dated March 1906 to a Canadian commodities exchange.

The certificate contains an embossed red-wax seal at the bottom. At the top it contains the motto "Industry Commerce Prudence" circling chaffs of wheat. To the left of the motto, there is a graphic depicting a cow and a horse rider. To the right of the motto, a farmer tilling the land on foot behind a two-horse pull-plow. In the background, there is a farmhouse, a locomotive, and a telephone pole plus phone lines. .

The certificate is in Good condition, but does contain a 1/4 inch rip on the left side and a 3/4 inch rip on the right side. Both of the rips are on the fold lines of the document, and neither rip will be discernible if you display the document under a glass frame. Measures 9 1/2 X 11 1/4 inches.
